I dreamed I found you

after a long day in the confines of polluted city air and and aches from bad posture in my office chair - i retired home and crawled to bed. I wanted to leave this place and I closed my eyes.. soon i was in a dreary land where the sky was hues of orange and purple and i was surrounded by glass lotus flowers.. and my own vision of myslef was distorted.

My favourite time of the day - is in my dreams.

i diy'd it! - paint my shoe like miu miu

Two posts ago, I found a cute pair of red vintage heels that had the same platform heel as those awesome miu miu plastforms. So i got some leather shoe paint and painted mine. So now their black and very cute. I was actually contemplating painting the little birds on the shoe, but thats probably borderline knockoff.

This is what i had.

This is what I wanted.

This is what I ended up with. Happy Days!

chanel beauty buys...

Over the weekend, I went to Sydney’s only Chanel Beauty counter at Sydney City Myer. I’ve read plenty of great reviews about the Chanel Vital Lumiere foundation and I wanted to share my experience.

So I walked in and took a seat, i was greeted by fresh faced Lady. She gave me quick run through on the history of the Beauty Counter and how all the girls there were trained makeup artists. So I was in capable hands.

Instead of leaving with only what I intended to buy, the makeup artists showed me a few other of their “highest Selling Products” , Being the self proclaimed sucker that I am i purchased a few other things that she recommended. Now, bear in mind I don’t usually spend so much money on makeup, but you only have one face and If you can buy a pair of expensive shoes for your feet to walk on the ground? Why not show your face some love also – it will always be the first thing people look at. =)

By the way, remember the taupe nails we all saw at Chanel s/s 2010? Well, the waiting list for the polish is 4 pages long! If you’re after that colour of polish Sportsgirl offers a similar shade with a violet hue to it.

Did you know?

The Chanel Myer Beauty counter offer make up lessons (incl a mini makeover) for $120 – sounds a little dear right? BUT you get to redeem the $120 for Chanel beauty products after your lesson.

Vitalumiere foundation - this foundation has medium coverage so its good when you dont want to wear too much and it looks really natural.

This is the make up base, its supposed to keep your foundation lasting all day. Though i'm not sure its really working for me, it smells divine though.
This shimmer powder is fantastic, it has micro glitter particles that makes your face shimmer but not like you've just put a whole glitter on your face. its great if you want to brighten and slightly whiten your face. This was the last one they had at the time. Apparently its one of Chanel's Best Sellers - particularly in Asia.

I got a couple of samples as well, love a freebie.

miu miu .. and diy intro.

The shoes have it... I'm loving miu miu's clever prints on what looks like silk blends - so adonrnigly loveley!. I dont think I would ever pull something like that off although ....atleast the shoes i could definatelty see my self parading around in.. mm.. fat chance. I always seem to pay extra attention to designers who use models for their campaigns that look like porcelain dolls. e.g: gemma ward in her hey days. I want her back. Funnily enough, miu miu's previous campaigns featured 2 of my favourite muse's - Kirsten Dunst and Camilla Belle.. i love belle's bushy brows. Too bad my asian heritage makes my brows awfully sparce - but thats another story. haha. Lucky I came across a red vintage pair of platforms whcih are actually the same shape and cut as the black miu miu platforms pictured above. But their red in colour, and I dont see red miu miu platforms. So .. drumroll please.. i intend to "d.i.y" them so they look a little more "miu". I'll put a picture above of that they look like... do u think they look similar? i'll post the diy when I do it for all to see.

i made this for you....

somethings i have made in the past month. I love d.i.y's... especially surfing the net and seeing things I love, but dont want to hand over the cash for - so then recreate it with what I've got lying around. Even better when ppl compliment you on it!..

cross necklace: I saw a girl on the street with a large metal cross necklace... i didnt have the balls to ask her where she got it from. and couldnt find it anywhere.
I cut a piece of thick cardboard in the shape of a cross, cut some leather cutoffs in the same shape and glued them on either side of the cardboard cut out. I then made a hole on the top to thread the string through annd put and eyeleton either side to make it look neat. lastly, u could still see the cardboard in the middle, inbetween the leather pieces, so i got some thin ribbon and glued it around the rims of the cut out. finish.

backless bow scoop dress: the steps on how to make this was on my previous post. eeezy peezy.

arm chain bracelet: I saw a pic on outsapop (www.outsapop.com) of something similar - and straight away took some chains and linked them all together.

studded shorts: ummm.. need I say more? but what i might add - i studded these babies along the the sides of the zipper - and my bf commented that it looks like i'm directing people to my "love nest". hahaha.

chain rimmed bustier: cant remember what inspired me to do this... but it makes a plain bustier so much more edgy.. the steps are on a previous post aswell.

diy quickie : make them bow

3) Start at the bottom and work you way up til your happy with the amount of ribbons.
Cheap as chips to make and you can put the bows where ever you like and sew them on. Finito.

2) I used velvet ribbon cos I liek the texture, cut some of the ribbon long enough to fit the width of the open back. and then squeeze the centre of ribbon and sew together so it looks like a bow. You can then sew the ribbon to both side of the open back.

1) i got this backless dress from cotton on - 2 for $30 - cheap as chips, you'll also need scissors, pins and you can either sew by hand or use a machine.

the back wasnt deep/ plunging enough for the amount of bows I had in mind so I just cut it a bit lower and sewed it abck up.
